Job Description

The Analytics Software Developer is responsible for developing and maintaining quality code, which is scalable, to enable the analytics infrastructure. The incumbent will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to convert technical requirements into software modules which will fuel the development, testing and deployment of analytical solutions to help our customers achieve optimal asset performance. The position will report to the Global IoT Analytics team and will be located at our Bengaluru location.

Responsibilities & Requirements:-

Principal Accountabilities:-

  • Design technical requirements based on (internal/external) customer needs and interpret them into an agile software development workflow to support analytics for IoT.
  • Analytics algorithm coding, testing, bug fixing, integration, and deployment.
  • Work with multiple data types and databases to drive efficient ETL processes for streaming data from IoT sensor devices.
  • Ensure the system design is compliant to production system requirements.
  • Conduct Database and Algorithm engine monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in code reviews and deliver technical presentations.
  • Build and measure the performance of back-end applications.
  • Implement applications that use a wide range of communication protocols / message brokers (e.g. RabbitMQ)
  • Containerize applications to deploy in: Docker environment, Kubernetes, Azure IoT Edge.
  • Develop guidelines on system limitations and performance enhancing configurations.
  • Deploy applications both in server/serve-less fashion.
  • Python mastery and ability to write quality, maintainable, and scalable code.

Qualifications:-

  • Education: Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science (required), Masters (preferred).
  • 5+ years of scalable software development.
  • Strong fundamental understanding and use of an object-oriented programming language like Python, Java, or C++, etc. and scientific python eco-system (e.g. numpy, scipy).
  • Cloud architecture for industrial IoT (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud).
  • Fluency in English is a must.

Preferred Experience / Skills: Preferred Skills:-

  • Experience with data systems, data integrity, and data quality assurance processes.
  • Experience working with continuous-integration and development/production environments.
  • Data administration, architecture, and optimizing big data pipelines.
  • Containerization within systems like Docker.
  • Data visualization in Python, Tableau, or other BI tools.
  • Scrum and Agile software development.
  • DevOps in any mainstream configuration management software.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills. Able to back up assumptions and recommendations with data.
  • Great problem solving and critical thinking skills and collaborates well with others to achieve a common goal.
  • Solid presentation skills and ability to convey complex technical details to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Familiar with instrumentation and electronics, wireless systems, vibration measurements, predictive analytics, experience with industrial plant reliability engineering and operations.
  • Travelling is required at 10-20%.
