West Bengal Discom Issues 10 MW Rooftop Solar Tender on Govt Buildings
The West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL), issued a tender inviting online bids through Domestic Competitive Bidding (DCB) to develop 10 MWp grid-connected rooftop solar PV power plants on state government buildings. These projects will be developed on a turnkey basis at various locations across different zones of West Bengal. WBSEDCL is accepting bids until October 29, 2025.
Bidders will be responsible for the supply, installation, and commissioning of the projects, along with providing five years of maintenance for the grid-connected solar plants. The tender requires comprehensive maintenance on a turnkey basis across various locations in different zones of West Bengal.
The tender offer will remain valid for a minimum of 180 days from the date of opening the technical bid. WBSEDCL may, at its discretion, request an extension of the offer’s validity for a further suitable period without any change in the terms and conditions. WBSEDCL is not bound to accept the lowest tender and reserves the right to cancel any or all tenders unilaterally without assigning any reason.
State Sees Surge in Solar Projects from Private & Govt Players
Apart from Vikram Solar, several other companies are expanding in the state. Kolkata discom CESC is already on its way to start solar manufacturing as well as ramp up renewable energy to the mix for the state capital
Government-owned coal producer Coal India Limited (CIL) is also looking to develop approximately 3,000 MW of solar projects across potential states in India. Earlier this year, the company issued an Expression of Interest (EoI) inviting solar EPC companies to participate in developing these projects. Through this tender, CIL seeks to engage solar EPC players to build solar power projects across multiple states.
