Waaree Solar Americas Gets 586 MW Global Order Worth $176 Mn By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Thu, May 29th, 2025 Highlights : The supply of modules is scheduled to begin in the 2026–27 financial year Waaree Solar Americas, a subsidiary of Waaree Energies, has received an international order for 586 MW of solar modules, the company said in a regulatory filing. The $176 million order was placed by a prominent U.S.-based developer and owner-operator of utility-scale solar and energy storage projects, the company added. Waaree Solar Americas secured the order from a renowned customer who develops and operates utility-scale solar and energy storage projects across the United States, the company said in a regulatory filing. The supply of modules is scheduled to begin in the 2026–27 financial year, it added. It should be mentioned here that Waaree management has indicated earlier that orders in America have a longer delivery cycle as compared to India, due to more extended regulatory hurdles. The firm typically expects order cycles to be as long as 24 months or more in the US. Waaree Solar Americas Invests $1.2 Bn To Expand US Operations Waaree Solar Americas Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of India-based Waaree Energies Ltd., earlier this month announced an additional investment of $200 million in the United States at the SelectUSA Investment Summit hosted by the U.S. Department of Commerce. The new investment will focus on battery energy storage systems, aimed at boosting the company’s technological capabilities and supporting the widespread adoption of cost-efficient energy solutions across the U.S. This follows Waaree Energies’ earlier commitment to invest up to $1 billion in the U.S. solar ecosystem, bringing the company’s total planned investment in the country to $1.2 billion by 2028. Waaree cited several factors behind its decision to expand in the U.S., including the size and dynamism of the American energy market, and the growing demand for reliable power in sectors such as artificial intelligence and data centers. The company also noted that solar energy remains the most cost-effective and rapidly deployable power source. Waaree Solar Americas has previously announced the expansion of its solar module manufacturing facility in Brookshire, Texas. The facility, currently operating at 1.6 GW capacity, is expected to double to 3.2 GW in the near future.
