Waaree RTL Bags ₹114 Cr Order For 94 MW MSKVY Solar Project By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Mon, May 19th, 2025 Waaree Renewables Boasts Of 3.2 GW Of Order Book Mumbai-based Waaree Renewable Technologies Limited (WRTL) has received a Letter of Award (LOA) from a Renewable Energy Generation Company to construct 94 MW AC Solar PV Plants. The developer would be responsible for undertaking EPC activities to develop projects across multiple locations under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana (MSKVY) 2.0. The project consists of a total value of the project is ₹114.22 crore. This award follows a competitive bidding process, detailed technical proposals, and subsequent negotiations, reflecting WRTL’s strong capabilities in delivering high-quality, scalable solar infrastructure. The Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana (MSKVY) 2.0, led by the Maharashtra Government, aims to empower farmers by providing daytime electricity through decentralized solar generation, thereby promoting agricultural productivity and rural energy independence. About The Project Sunil Rathi, Executive Director of Waaree Renewable Technologies Limited said, “This Letter of Award is more than just a project win- it’s a reaffirmation of the trust our partners place in us”. He added, “Through this project, we are proud to contribute meaningfully to the Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana (MSKVY) 2.0 by enabling clean, daytime electricity for farmers and supporting rural energy independence. This is how we power progress- one megawatt at a time.” The MSKVY scheme is picking up pace in Maharashtra after a slow start linked to multiple issues like complex rules, clear title to land holdings and inexperience of developers with the process. Now, much like PMKUSUM Component A, which also envisages ground mounted solar plants on land owned by farmers etc, the scheme is being pushed aggressively to meet targets. The premise for the scheme is to provide power to farmers during solar hours and benefit from the savings due to subsidised power otherwise.
