Vikram Solar Welcomes Back Ivan Saha As CEO

Vikram Solar, one of India’s leading module manufacturers and comprehensive EPC solar solutions provider, has announced the appointment of Ivan Saha as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Saha was last working with leading developer Renew Power as its Chief Technical Officer, a role he took on after leaving Vikram Solar as its President and CTO from 2013 to 2020. Even as he achieved significant milestones at Renew Power, including its listing at NASDAQ during his tenure there, he returns as a CEO to Vikram Solar when the Kolkata based firm itself is poised for one of its biggest expansion drives and a possible public listing in the future.

A Homecoming of Sorts, Ivan Saha, CEO, Vikram Solar

Ivan Saha holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science (ceramic technology) from the University of Calcutta, and a Master’s degree in Technology (materials science) from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur.  He has experience in technology and operations roles across organisations such as the IIT Kanpur, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Moser Baer Photo Voltaic Limited.

With a  presence across 32 countries, a portfolio of 1.42 GW EPC projects (commissioned + under execution) and 1,899 employees, besides a cumulative manufacturing capacity heading to over 2.5 GW, Vikram Solar has been one of the more well established and largest PV module manufacturer in India .  the firm has a wide distribution network, and manufacturing plants in both West Bengal and Tamil Nadu.

Saha’s appointment follows another top level appointment, the elevation of Rajendra Parakh as COO of its EPC division, pointing to major changes and execution plans ahead for the PV major.
