Vikram Solar Bags 250 MW Module Order From GIPCL

Leading module manufacturing firm Vikram Solar, has announce a significant a 250 MW order win from Gujarat Industries Power Company Limited (GIPCL). The company has successfully received the Letter of Intent (LoI). The sizeable order is a welcome sign of rising demand for one the oldest firms in the solar manufacturing sector

The modules to be supplied under this agreement fall within the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM), featuring high-efficiency panels. They will be used for solar energy infrastructure in Gujarat.

Gyanesh Chaudhary, Chairman & Managing Director of Vikram Solar, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are thrilled to secure this order, which reinforces the strong and enduring relationship between Vikram Solar and GIPCL. This new agreement underscores their confidence in our capabilities and commitment to excellence. Our focus remains on innovation, performance, and customer satisfaction. As India progresses towards its green energy objectives, we are optimistic about future prospects and are ready to play an integral role in transforming India’s renewable energy landscape and enhancing its stature as a global leader in sustainable practices.”

Under the terms of the agreement, Vikram Solar will manufacture, test and deliver high-efficiency, bifacial solar PV modules employing cutting-edge technology with the range of minimum module capacity of 540Wp and maximum module capacity of 570Wp. These modules will be deployed at the MW RE Park in Village Khavda, in the vast expanses of the Great Rann of Kutch, Gujarat.

The order from GIPCL follows a 400 MW order provided to another leading solar manufacturer announced earlier this week. Large buyers with firm plans have started placing massive orders to take advantage of what they believe to be lower module prices while they last.  With ALMM also compulsory from April 1, buyers no longer have the option of importing modules too.

With an international presence across 32 countries, portfolio of 1.42 GW EPC projects (commissioned + under execution) and 1,899 employees, Vikram Solar has been making a lot of moves to leverage the new growth in solar.  Headquartered in Kolkata, West Bengal, it is one of the largest PV module manufacturers in India with cumulative production capacity of 3.5 GW. The company has a distribution network connecting more than 40 cities, ensuring the availability of solar products and solutions across 600+ locations in India.
