Vestas Secures Twin Orders Of 109 MW Turbine Supply

Vestas Secures Twin Orders Of 109 MW Turbine Supply

Danish turbine manufacturer Vestas has announced that it has received two separate orders for the supply of its turbines for a combined capacity of 109 MW to Argentina and Turkey.

With regards to a wind energy project in Argentina, Vestas held that it has received an order that includes supply of 16 units of V150-4.5 MW turbines. This order is also coupled with a 30-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement.

Vestas mentioned that deliveries and commissioning are planned for 2024. Customer and project names are undisclosed at the customer’s request.

The firm claims to have pioneered Argentina’s wind energy market with the installation of the country’s first commercial wind turbine in Comodoro Rivadavia in 1994.

Turkish Order

Vestas also said that it bagged a separate order for a 37 MW wind energy project in Turkey. The contract includes the supply and installation of six V162-6.2 MW wind turbines, as well as a 10-year Active Output Management 4000 (AOM 4000) service agreement.

We are glad to see how the EnVentus platform enters the Turkish market and expands its footprint in the world”, says General Manager of Vestas Turkey, Levent Ishak.

Turbine delivery is planned for the last quarter of 2023, whilst commissioning is expected for the second quarter of 2024.The project and customer names remain undisclosed. Vestas said that it installed Turkey’s first wind turbine in 1984 and has since then delivered over 2 GW of wind capacity to the country.

Vestas designs, manufactures, installs, and services onshore and offshore wind turbines across the globe, and with more than 166 GW of wind turbines in 88 countries. It claims to have supplied highest capacity in the world.
