UPPCIL Invites Bids For 2 GW IST & Infa-State Solar Project

Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCIL) has invited bids for procurement of solar power on a long-term basis through a tariff-based competitive bidding process (TBCB). The tender by UPPCIL in this regard read, "On behalf of the distribution licensee of Uttar Pradesh (UP) invited proposal for the procurement of 2 GW solar power from inter-state (IST) and infra state connected solar power generation stations for 25 years. The interested parties must submit their bids by March 18, 2024."

The tender fee is Rs 29,476.56, with an earnest deposit of Rs 9,0488 and the bidding process fee is Rs 5,00,271.11. The bid document was released on February 6, 2023.   

Earlier this year, the Uttar Pradesh New And Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) released three tenders for installing 7 MW of grid-connected net-metered rooftop solar projects accompanied by battery backup.

Regarding the first tender, qualified bidders are invited to participate in the procurement process for installing grid-connected net-metered rooftop solar projects with battery backup, ranging from 51 kW to 75 kW each. The total capacity for tendering is 1MW.

In the second tender, UPNEDA offers 2 MW of capacity to qualified bidders to install grid-connected net-metered rooftop solar projects ranging from 1 kW to 10 kW, each with battery backup.

In the third UPNEDA tender, approved bidders will have to deploy rooftop solar projects ranging from 11 kW to 50 kW, integrated with battery backup and connected to the grid. The cumulative capacity of this tender is 4 MW.
