Rooftop Solar Tender

The Urban Development Department (UDD) on behalf and for the Hubli – Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC) has issued tender for setting up of rooftop solar projects totalling 340 kW on net metering or gross metering models at multiple locations owned by HDMC in the Hubballi Dharwad Smart City, Karnataka.

The Government of Karnataka has identified Government, Municipal and School Buildings for installation of rooftop Solar PV systems as a very potent area in its Smart City Project. To save energy produced by conventional methods, it is envisaged to develop solar rooftop projects on a large scale by utilising vacant roofs of buildings.

The Smart City Proposal (SCP) for Hubballi Dharwad envisions implementing a number of projects divided into Area Based Development (ABD) projects and pan city components. Rooftop solar in Government Buildings is one of the projects proposed in the smart city proposal.

The scope of the project includes the designing, financing, procuring/manufacturing, installing, testing, commissioning, grid synchronisation, completing the project for the contracted capacity and then supplying the power generated to the building owned by HDMC and connected to the grid through a service connection. The surplus energy will be fed into the grid under the net metering/ grid metering scheme at the respective Interconnection Points of HESCOM within scheduled commissioning date.

The developers will also be required to provide comprehensive operation and maintenance of the solar rooftop systems for a period of 25 years or the duration of the power purchase agreement.
