Udaya Sehgal Is New CFO At Alpex Solar

Greater Noida-based module manufacturing firm Alpex Solar has re-designated Udaya Sehgal as Chief Financial Officer (Key Managerial Personnel) with effect from June 4, 2025, the company said in a regulatory filing. Sehgal previously worked with Alpex Solar as a marketing consultant from 2018 to 2022.

The company said the appointment comes at a time when it is undergoing a major expansion. “The Managing Director of the Company apprised the Board about the ongoing massive expansion project, which necessitates a revamp and strengthening of the Company’s team,” the filing said.

In a brief profile, Alpex Solar described Sehgal as “a strategically focused and analytically driven professional” with a B.Sc in Business Management from King’s College London and an M.Sc in Strategic Marketing from Imperial College London. She brings over six years of experience as a Manager at Bytedance, the parent company of TikTok, and has also served as a Senior Executive at HT Media Ltd, the company said.

“Her blend of financial acumen, operational expertise, and growth insight enables her to align financial strategies with broader business objectives,” it added. “She has a proven track record of driving cross-functional initiatives, enhancing process efficiency, and delivering results in high-growth environments.”

Alpex Solar Expansion Plans

While sharing the financial results for the Q4 Financial Year (FY25), the Managing Director Ahwani Sehgal shared Alpex Solar’s expansion plans in a regulatory filing, and said, “With our 1.2 GW module manufacturing capacity, we aspire to grow to 2.4 GW by the end of this year. We are also adding a 1.6 GW solar cell manufacturing line.”

The company is also adding 12,000 metric tons per year manufacturing capacity for aluminium frames, which are a component of solar panels. In EPC and IPP services, it aims to add 150 MW of EPC projects and 100 MW of IPP projects over the next 2 years.

The planned 1.6 GW cell manufacturing line, will be laid out in 3 phases, adding 500 MW, and 500 MW, followed by 600 MW over the next 2 years. This facility will be used to manufacture Mono Perc and Topcon cell technology. It has projected a CAPEX of Rs. 642 crores and this will be met from internal accruals, equity, and debt.
