Trina Solar Announces 28.79 GW Module Shipments in Q3, Launch of New Modules Global Cleantech Firm Trina Solar Is Back On BNEF's Tier 1 List

Trina Solar, a leading Chinese brand that delves into the development of PV products, EPC and O&M, has announced module shipments worth 28.79 GW in the third quarter of the year. The cumulative capacity of tracker shipments stood at 2.8GW.

In August 2022, Trina Solar had recorded module shipments of 18.05 GW in the first half of 2022 while its tracker smart control system ‘SuperTrack’ shipped 1 GW globally. With this milestone, it has achieved the second ranking worldwide for shipments in H1. The said projects are distributed across Asia, Europe and Latin America, in more than 10 countries. Another feather in its cap includes a recent financial review for Q3 which said that Trina Solar’s revenue was about USD 8.8 billion (RMB 58.2 billion) in the first three quarters, up 82.56% year-over-year. Added to this, the firm says that the new generation of Vertex N modules will be in mass production by the end of this year while more than 10 GW of n-type modules capacity is expected to be released by the first quarter of next year. Another 20 GW to 30 GW of capacity is expected to have been put on the market by the end of next year.

Trina Solar shares that it is gearing up for 2023 through constant innovation and R&D to bring more quality products and solutions to take another step towards achieving sustainability goals.

Rising Popularity of N-Type Modules

In a trend that seems to be on an upward curve in the solar industry, more and more firms are innovating and launching N-type modules. Studies and researches reveal that N-type modules promise higher levels of efficiency and longevity. Back in 2019, Trina Solar claimed to have achieved a new world record of 24.58% efficiency using an n-type monocrystalline i-TOPCon solar cell.
