The state of Telangana aims for top position in Solar Power Generation

State Power Minister G Jagadish Reddy has said that Telangana stands at second rank in solar power generation, and is expected to reach the top spot in another six months.

In his reply to a query in the Legislative Assembly, G Jagadish Reddy mentioned that the state is producing 1000 MW solar power at present and tenders have been floated for another 2000 MW solar power generation.

Plans have been prepared to give solar power to farming community, he added.
