Tata Power Renewable Energy Completes 30 MW Solar Plant in Maharashtra

With the acquisition of Welspun Renewables Energy Pvt. Ltd., TPREL’s portfolio has grown to 2.2GW.

Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL), a subsidiary of private power manufacturer Tata Power has commissioned 30 Megawatt (MW) solar power plant at Satara in Maharashtra.

Tata Power Renewable Energy mentioned in its statement that the plant will produce over 62 million kilowatt hour (KWH) annually of solar power, covering the annual energy needs of over 14,000 Indian households. The 30MW solar power plant uses domestically-manufactured Crystalline Silicon Photo-Voltaic modules.

TPREL’s present operating capacity is 1,487 MW comprising 530 MW wind and 957 MW solar capacity located in Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu Punjab, Telangna, Rajasthan and Bihar. The company is also implementing nearly 373 MW of renewable power projects at various locations on Greenfield basis.

With the acquisition of Welspun Renewable Energy Pvt. Ltd, TPREL’s portfolio has grown to 2.2 GW, the company said.
