Tata Power RE, Three Other Firms Win RUMSL’s 750 MW Hybrid Project NLC Joins Hands with Rajasthan for 300 MW Solar Supply

A joint venture company between The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam (MPUVN), Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL) has released the results of 750 MW hybrid (wind+solar) project. Sprng Ojas, Tata Power Renewable Energy, ReNew Solar Power, and TEQ Green Power IX (O2 Power) were declared the winners of this 750 MW hybrid power purchase auction for Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL). RUMSL floated this hybrid tender in April 2022.

160 MW, 200 MW, and 300 MW, respectively, were won by Sprng Ojas, Tata Power Renewable Energy, and ReNew Solar Power, all of whom quoted a rate of Rs 3.03 per kWh. O2 Power had requested 150 MW, but only 90 MW for Rs. 3.04 per kWh was accepted.

A sub-station owned by Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company (MPPTCL) must be included in the project’s design for electricity delivery.

In April of this year, solid response to the tender’s flotation resulted in a 530 MW oversubscription. RUMSL had just released its first hybrid wind-solar tender. Solar and floating solar project tenders had already been released.

To obtain grid connectivity with MPPTCL, the winning bidders will be in charge of doing so. Additionally, as agreed upon with DISCOMs, they must make preparations for grid evacuation and injection of excess power. They will be responsible for paying for a dedicated line’s construction, upkeep, and other expenses to the point of delivery.

Recently, Amp Energy India signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Ltd (RUMSL) in Madhya Pradesh for 100MW/140MWp capacity. RUMSL has also planned a 600 MW floating solar park at the Omkareshwar Reservoir, which is India’s largest and one of the world’s largest floating solar projects.
