Tata Power Company Limited has issued a tender for the supply of 225 MW wind-solar hybrid power. This will be on long term basis via competitive bidding. The selected bidder will be responsible for the development and procurement of 225 MW grid connected intrastate and interstate wind-solar hybrid power projects with a greenshoe option of an additional capacity of 225 MW.

Bids open on August 2, 2023. The last date to submit the bids online is July 31, 2023. The date and time of pre-bid meeting July 7, 2023.

The tender documents for domestic bidders is INR 29500. The tender processing fee is INR 354000. The EMD security is fixed at INR 354000. The EMD is INR 5 Lakh per MW.

Bidders will be required to submit INR 300,000 plus GST applicable as a bid processing fee.

The successful bidder will enter into a Power Purchase Agreement for a period of 25 years from the date that the project is commissioned.

Qualification Criteria

The minimum project size for intrastate hybrid project is 25 MW while the minimum project size for interstate hybrid project is 50 MW. To qualify for bidding, the minimum net worth of the bidder should be at least INR 10 million per MW of the quoted capacity as the last day of the previous financial year.

Tata Power mandates the use of solar modules in ALMM issued by the MNRE.

Earlier, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), through its subsidiary TP Vardhaman Surya Limited, received a Letter of Award to set up 966 MW RTC (Round-the-clock) hybrid renewable power for Tata Steel. This is one of the biggest industrial RTC power PPAs under the group captive segment in the country. The project has the hybrid renewable capacity of 379 MW solar and 587 MW wind power.
