Tata Power is in the middle of what is arguably the biggest transformation of its existence, as it seeks to shift to become a major energy powerhouse on the back of renewable energy, even as it sheds its thermal dependence. Besides committing to zero fresh thermal capacity, the firm has also expanded aggressively into renewable energy generation, solar equipment manufacturing, EV charging and hopes to add more distribution circles to its portfolio as and when the opportunity presents itself. Currently the firm owns distribution rights in Odisha and in Delhi, besides Mumbai of course.
