Tamil Nadu Seeking Solar Power at its Substations

The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco) has issued multiple tenders for setting up solar power plants at six of its substations (SS) in the state.

The brief scope of work for selected bidders will include the supply, erection, testing, commissioning and maintenance of Rooftop LT grid-connected solar plant at Cuddalore SS (30 kW), Villupuram SS (15 kW), Echur SS (30 kW), Ulundurpet SS (15 kW), Thiruvannamalai SS (30 kW) and the Arni SS (15 kW).

The total tendered capacity between the six substations is 135 kW. The last date of bid submission for the Cuddalore SS and Villupuram SS is February 28, 2019, and the last date for bid submission for the other two tenders is March 01, 2019. Bids will be opened on the same date.

All bidders will be required to submit an Earnest Money Deposit of Rs 26040 along with their bids for the Cuddalore SS and Villupuram SS tender, and Rs 17,360 with the other two.

To be eligible, the bidder shall be a manufacturer/developer/installer of SPV systems or a system integrator cum EPC contractor having adequate experience in executing LT Grid supported solar power projects in India and had established and commissioned two or more Rooftop solar power plants in India with aggregate capacity of 30 kW, the minimum plant capacity being 5 kW to State Electricity Boards/ Government Undertakings/Corporations/any other private or public utility during the last 10 years.

The Annual Turnover of the Tenderer shall be not less than Rs 10 lakhs during any one of the previous three financial years (i.e.) 2015-16, 2016-17 & 2017-18.

Recently, the Dharmapuri Electricity Distribution Circle (DEDC), under the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited (TANGEDCO) has issued tender inviting bids for setting up a 50 kW Rooftop solar PV power plant at DEDC’s Palavadi 400 KV Substation, Tamil Nadu. The last date for bid submissions is February 25, 2019.
