Technological manifestation is on the rise in the renewable energy sector which propels the green energy scenario in India. In a key development, Sunpure Technology Co. Ltd. has announced that it has signed agreements with renewable energy developer Sprng Energy, under which, Sunpure will supply its robotic cleaning systems that do not require water in the cleaning process for the solar projects of Sprng Energy.

This water-free robotic cleaning technology will be employed in 698 MWp capacity of solar power projects. These projects are based in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh. Sunpure holds that the contracts envisage the supply of Semi-Automatic Advanced version of its robotic cleaning systems.

With regards to the technology used in the robotic cleaning system, it combines IoT, artificial intelligence and mega-data analysis tech, built on a smart four-wheel drive, attitude recognition control technology and SmartPure cloud platform. Sunpure says that these robots would efficiently clean solar modules and improve the overall productivity of the solar power systems.

The Sunpure solutions will be commissioned this year in Sprng Energy projects. There are certification systems and authorities for the robotic cleaning system in the solar industry. The firm maintains that its robotic cleaning technology is already certified and tested by leading authorities like TUV, CE, CGC and others.

Sprng Energy is a fully-owned subsidiary of global energy giant Shell. Sprng Energy has a contracted capacity of more than 3000 MWp. Solar power is over 2500 MWp of the total and the rest is wind energy projects.

Shell Overseas Investment B.V.acquired 100% Sprng Energy Group of Companies from Actis Solenergi Limited (Actis) which is a leading global investor in sustainable infrastructure. Recently, Sprng Energy walked away with the 200 MW of allotments to develop solar power for GUVNL.
