Sunil Gupta Assumes the Role of CEO & Group CFO at Azure Power

Independent Power Producer Azure Power has appointed Sunil Gupta as its new CEO (Chief Executive Officer) and Group CFO (Chief Financial Officer).

The CEO is set to join the firm on July 10, 2023. He will be replacing the acting CEO, Rupesh Agrawal. Gupta will also step into the shoes of the Managing Director of Azure Power India Private Limited, a subsidiary of the firm.

Preceding this role at Azure, Gupta was the Business Head at renewable energy firm Vena Energy for Southeast Asia & South Asia. He has also served as the renewable energy Business Group Head at Sembcorp Industries in Singapore. Here, he looked after market entry in India, Australia, Singapore and Vietnam.

Meanwhile, Sugata Sircar has joined Azure Power as the  CFO of Azure Power and Executive Director of subsidiary Azure Power India. His appointment was effective May 1, 2023.

A few days back, Azure Power announced the onboarding of Harpreet Singh as the Head of Supply Chain Management.
