A provider of solar tracker and software solutions, Nextracker, has announced the signing of an agreement with Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited, which is renewable energy EPC and O&M solutions provider. Nextracker will deliver its solar trackers to NTPC Renewable Energy Limited’s 1.255 GW solar PV project in Khavda Renewable Energy Park, Gujarat. Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited is implementing this 1.568 GWp Solar PV project in NTPC REL’s Khavda RE Park, Gujarat, which will employ Nextracker’s optimized bifacial solar tracker for additional energy gain.

Due to improved tracker design efficiencies, there is an upward trend for the adoption of solar trackers combined with bifacial module technology in India. In addition to supplying solar tracker technology, components will be made with locally made steel from factories in Gujarat. The project is slated to be operational by first half of 2024.

The Khavda project expands Nextracker’s gigawatt-portfolio in India. The firm’s second largest office is in Hyderabad and the Middle East with expertise to support the life cycle of every project.

Nextracker has shipped over 70 GW worldwide.
