South Eastern Railway Invites Bids for 13.54 MW Solar Rooftop Projects

South Eastern Railway (SER) has floated tenders that invite bids for the establishment of 13.54 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) projects in railway zones. These are for the three states of Odisha, Jharkhand, and West Bengal and will be achieved through public-private partnerships.

As per the tender, the projects will have to be executed on Design, Build, Finance, Operate, and Transfer basis. The selected bidder will be required to operate and maintain the rooftop solar projects for a period of 25 years.

The last date to submit the bids is June 19, 2023.

The selected bidders will look into developing two solar projects from over 10 kW and upto 100 kW; and over 100 kW upto 500 kW.

The Indian Railways has set sights on net-zero carbon emissions by the end of the decade.

Earlier, Ayana Energy bagged 300 MW of renewable energy from Railway Energy Management Company Ltd (REMCL). REMCL had also awarded a 50.4 MW wind project to Sembcorp recently.
