Solis Bags Smart Inverter Award At Indian Rooftop Solar Congress 2021, Gets Ready For Solar + Storage Era

Solis participated in the 8th Annual Indian Rooftop Solar Congress 2021 which happened on 21st-22nd Jan 2021. Being the premier conference for defining the latest industry needs, it brought together leaders, key decision-makers from all the
stakeholders of the rooftop solar industry including project developers, EPC contractors, service providers, financial institutions, solar equipment and component manufacturers, consultants and advisers.

Opening Remarks were given by Subrahmanyam Pulipaka, Chief Executive Officer of National Solar Energy Federation of India. He said “India is at interesting crossroads currently as far as the solar industry is concerned. As of December 2020, rooftop solar contributed to only 10 percent as against the set target of 40 percent and hence there is a wide scope for it.”

Idrish Khan, Chief Technical Officer, Solis India was part of a panel discussion on Making Solar Bankable: Rooftop Solar + Storage. He said, “The session provided some great insights into the future of India’s rooftop solar industry. The discussion addressed topics like energy storage becoming mainstream for solar rooftops, it’s tariff trends, feasibility & economical viability. Discussions on the different aspects of energy storage solutions such as the ESS technology classification, application scenarios and the ESS market opportunities and challenges provided great insights into the future of this industry’s needs.”

Khan added, “Being an original equipment manufacturer of grid-tied inverter brands, Solis focuses on Product Innovation and the development of new technology which suits the market needs. For residential markets, the product already exists and we are also working on a solution for industrial application. We are working on customizing existing inverters such that they can be used as storage systems. We plan to come out with a product with dual interfacing in the near future.”

He also emphasized the important factors for inverters which are functionality and safety. Another key point highlighted by him was that when it comes to standards for grid-tied inverters, the same have been set by the government but we need the same
for energy storage inverters.

Solis Bags Company of the Year: Inverter (Smart Technical Inverter)

The highlight of the event was The 8th Edition of ‘India Rooftop Solar Congress 2021 Awards’ which is the most prestigious recognition for the best performers and achievers in the Solar Industry. Solis was the proud winner in the award category Company of the Year: Inverter (Smart Technical Inverter).

Solis is the leading manufacturer of one of the highest KW inverters that is 255KW-1500V. It has the largest number of MPPT- 12 / 14 MPPTs. The inverter is compatible with higher Watt- Peak and Bi-facial modules having high-temperature tolerance and
high yield. It is an inverter with Smart grid compensation algorithm, from “Passive Adaption” to “Active Support”, high DC/AC ratio, low LCOE and expandable Storage Interface. These were some of the key contributing factors for Solis to win this
prestigious award. Solis 255K inverters have been installed in World’s largest Tidal-flat 300 MW utility PV plant and other most iconic buildings and projects.
