Israel-based firm that delves into manufacturing solar inverters, SolarEdge has introduced a 330kW inverter, its latest offering along with a “complementing” H1300 power optimiser.

The products are designed in a way that they can be installed on small- to medium-scale ground-mount arrays. The firm adds that the innovation is primarily for use in community solar and agrivoltaics sectors.

Higher Efficiency, Lower LCOE

As per the firm, these inverters can bring down the the cost of operations remarkably at solar facilities, as they offer an inverter efficiency of 99%, which can lead to a reduction in balance of system costs of up to 50%. Thus, it can bring down the Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) by offering higher energy production over the lifetime of the system given the inverter efficiency, 200% DC-oversizing and an integrated PID rectifier.

With the design flexibility to overcome module mismatch and shading losses on uneven and irregular terrains, the new solution is well-suited for the rapidly growing community solar market. At the same time, the product boasts design flexibility to counted the challenge of module mismatch and shading losses on and irregular terrains.

The installations are scheduled for next year.

“We are pleased to bring the benefits of power optimisation and high-resolution monitoring to the utility solar segment with the introduction of our new high-power SolarEdge 330kW inverter,” said SolarEdge CEO, Zvi Lando.

“With the industry seeking solutions that improve both scalability and economics for community solar, we anticipate that DC-optimisation will be critical to maximising return on investment and bringing value to investors.”

SolarEdge introduced its latest offering at RE+, a conference on renewables being held in Las Vegas.  Recently, solar manufacturer Ampt, based in the US, also shared its plants to deliver 195 MW of string optimisers in North America.

SolarEdge has been consistently reflecting positive revenues. The firm boasted US$974.4 million in the second quarter of 2023. In the said time period, it shipped over 334,600 inverters, with capacity exceeding 4.3 GW.
