Solar Projects Developer LONGi Introduces Hi-MO 6 Modules to Malaysian Market LONGi Announces Developing 33.9% Efficiency With Perovskite

The Hi-MO 6 series, a new product line from leading global solar conglomerate LONGi, was recently unveiled at a customer appreciation event held at The St. Regis Kula Lumpur in Malaysia. This is the firm’s first line of modules created specifically for the scattered consumer market around the world.

The Hi-MO 6 module series from LONGi consists of four series: Explorer, Scientist, Guardian, and Artist. Each series is in the standard M10 size (182mm) and is offered in both 72C and 54C types. The module series incorporates HPBC cell technology and provides improved efficiency, safety, and aesthetics.

With a front-side busbar-free design and a new generation of high-efficiency solar cells called HPBC, the output power of a module may be effectively increased while also improving the cell’s capacity for light absorption and photoelectric conversion. The traditional M10 size (182mm) is still used, and mass-produced modules have an efficiency of 22.8%.

LONGi maintains that its products are customer-centric and more Hi-MO 6 offers solution to meet market demand for higher efficiency, safety, and architectural aesthetics.

Davis Chong, CEO of Solavest Holdings Berhad and President of the Malaysian Photovoltaic Industry Association (MPIA), stated his enthusiasm for LONGi’s background in green technology, “I am enthusiastic about LONGi’s upcoming efforts in green technology advancements, where the groundwork set will enable the growth of an effective clean energy ecosystem, making clean energy more widely available and dependable for everyone.”

LONGi has been the firm’s business partner since 2019, which makes him proud and delighted, said the Chief Executive Officer of Pekat Group Berhad. The largest integrated bi-facial solar car park in Malaysia will be constructed by Pekat Group in 2020 for national automaker PROTON using LONGi’s bi-facial solar panel technology.

Joseph, Gentari’s Head of Project Delivery and Operations, revealed to the audience the firm’s ambitious plans for the Asia Pacific region and how excited it is to work with LONGi and use the Hi-MO 6 series’ high efficiency.

Earlier, L&T picked Chinese major LONGi to provide 1292 MW of PV modules for two solar projects under construction in Saudi Arabia. LONGi VP Dennis She and A. Ravindran, Senior Vice President and Head of the Renewables Strategic Business Group at L&T, jointly signed the agreement, involving two Saudi Arabian projects for which L&T is acting as EPC, at an event held in Dubai.
