SJVN Issues Tender to Restore 47.6 MW Wind Project in Maharashtra SJVN

SJVN has invited bids to restore four wind turbine generators (WTGs) at its 47.6 MW Khirvire Wind Power Station (KWPS), located in Khirvire and Kombhalne villages in Akole taluka of Maharashtra’s Ahmednagar district. SJVN tender set June 3, 2025, as the last date for bid submission. The new tender follows a tender in April for O&M of the same project in April last year.

Project Details

The project, set up in 2014 by SJVN, sells power to Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution under a power purchase agreement for a period of 13 years from 2014. Siemens Gamesa was the original WTG supplier and O&M contractor for a period of 10 years.

The tender offers a one-time remedial contract that includes the supply of materials, repair and restoration work, testing, and commissioning of four WTGs at the site, which comprises 56 units of 850 kW each.

Scope of Work

SJVN in its scope of work mentioned, “The contractor will be responsible for carrying out the complete restoration of the turbines, including rectifying deficiencies in the wind turbines and associated unit substations. This covers the de-erection of defective equipment or components, supply or repair of damaged equipment, re-erection of new or refurbished parts, and full installation, testing, and commissioning to ensure operational readiness.”

SJVN tender further mentioned, “The bidder must also provide all necessary tools, equipment, and manpower required to execute the work. Additionally, the scope includes the supply of components, spares, and consumables, with the contractor responsible for procuring quality materials, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining required standards.”

Additionally, the tender also set the defect liability period of 12 months from the date of completion of the work as certified by the Engineer-in-Charge. It further added, “The Contractor would be responsible to make good and remedy at his own expense within such period as stipulated by the Engineer-in-Charge, any defect which may develop or may be noticed during the Defect Liability Period.”

Qualifications

The bidder must meet the pre-qualification criteria of having executed repair or restoration work on wind turbine generators (WTGs) with a cumulative capacity of 25 MW or more, comprising WTGs with a minimum individual capacity of 850 kW each, in India, within the last seven years as of the online bid submission deadline.
