Sharma said that SJVN is committed to contributing in realising the renewable energy target of 175 GW by 2022 set by the Prime Minister. And that the steps in this direction have already been taken and presently SJVN is developing a 100 MW solar power project at Dholera and another 100 MW solar power project at Raghanseda in Gujarat. He also emphasised that the partnership of SJVN & IREDA will be long-lasting and fruitful for both.

IREDA will undertake Techno-Financial due diligence of renewable energy, energy efficiency and conservation projects for SJVN. It will also assist SJVN in developing an action plan to create and acquire renewable energy projects for the next 5 years.

Pradip Kumar Das, CMD, IREDA said “the MoU highlights IREDA’s continuous efforts for the development of the renewable energy sector in line with Prime Minister’s vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. This is a transformational opportunity for IREDA and SJVN to work together forming a perfect synergy between both the organisation. It will also serve to facilitate knowledge and technology transfer and provide consultancy and research services, which will contribute to driving the sustainable development of the country. We look forward to extending our consultancy services to other PSUs as well as private organisations for the development of the renewable energy sector.”

Recently, we had reported that SJVN had issued an EoI for the enlistment of EPC vendors for the development of a solar PV power plant of capacity of 100 MW (AC) and above anywhere in India along with its comprehensive Operation and Maintenance (O&M) for a period up to 10 years. The last date for submission (online) of EoI is December 17, 2020.
