Senvion India Wins Order From Continuum For Its 4.2M160 WTGs By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Thu, May 15th, 2025 Highlights : The latest order converts an optional order for 50 WTG’s to a firm order for 100 WTG’s with a capacity of 420 MW in total now Senvion India has announced the conversion of its previously conditional agreement with Continuum Green Energy for the 4.2M160 wind turbine generator (WTGs). Originally signed in September 2024, the conditional order included 50 confirmed turbines and an additional 50 optional turbines, all of which are now fully committed. The order value for 100 units adds up to a total capacity of 420 megawatts (MW). With deliveries set to begin in April 2026, the turbines will be deployed and installed across project sites, identified by Senvion and developed by Continuum. The latter has a special focus on the C&I segment in India, besides some sales to state discoms and power exchanges. The 4.2M160 is Senvion’s most advanced onshore turbine platform to date, developed through Indo-German collaboration and designed to perform reliably across varying wind regimes. With a 160-meter rotor and flexible hub heights, the turbine balances high energy yield with modular construction, enabling faster deployment and ease of maintenance. More than 85% of the components will be manufactured in India, contributing to local value chains and job creation. Amit Kansal, CEO and Managing Director of Senvion India, said: “The 4XM platform is the most indigenously developed Senvion turbine with a high level of localisation of components and technology. The turbines are specially designed for Indian wind conditions and environment. With planned capacities of 2GW in 2026, Senvion plans to deploy the turbines extensively in India, leading to creating local jobs and energy security for the country.” Arvind Bansal, CEO of Continuum Green Energy, commented: “Our focus remains on building high-performing, bankable wind assets with partners who bring consistency and engineering insight. Finalizing this order with Senvion follows a structured evaluation of technical performance, supply assurance, and service readiness. ” Senvion Bags First 3.1M130 Turbine Order With Powerica In Gujarat Also Read Senvion India is one of the leading turbine manufacturers in the wind energy sector, present in India since 2016.
