Sembcorp Industries, through its wholly owned subsidiary Sembcorp Green Infra Private Limited (SGIPL), has secured its first round-the-clock (RTC) renewable power project in India.

The company has been awarded a 50 MW project by Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI) under a 1.2 GW tender for RTC power from Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected renewable projects.

300 MW Renewable Capacity

To deliver the contracted power, Sembcorp will deploy approximately 300 MW of installed capacity across solar, wind and battery energy storage systems (BESS). The project will operate on a build-own-operate model and is expected to begin commercial operations within 24 months from the signing of a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with SECI.

The project will be funded through a mix of internal accruals and debt.

Sembcorp’s Indian RE Capacity Exceeds 6.5 GW.

Following this development, Sembcorp’s total gross renewables capacity in India will exceed 6.5 GW. The group’s global renewable portfolio stands at 18.0 GW, including acquisitions pending completion.

The award is not expected to have a material impact on the company’s earnings per share or net tangible assets per share for the financial year ending Dec. 31, 2025.
