SECI Floats Tender For Supply Of 1680 MW of Solar Modules

SECI (Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited) has floated a tender for 1680 MW solar modules supply. These solar modules and the solar cells utilised in them ought to be produced domestically. The total capacity of the solar tender is divided into four Packages & each package will be 420 MWp. All solar modules (1680 MW) under the tender will be either monocrystalline or thin-film. This is possibly the largest tender for modules from SECI thus far.

The last date to submit the bid is July 29, 2022, till 2:00 pm, for both online & offline bidders. Bids will be opened on the same day at 4:00 pm.

According to the tender document, the bidder may quote either for a single package or a maximum of 02 packages. A single bidder cannot quote for more than 2 packages or a solar module capacity of 840 MW.

Besides this, bidders also cannot quote for any random quantity under this bidding process. For example 500 MWp, 600 MWp, 650 MWp, etc. Each interested bidder will have to pay a tender fee amount of Rs. 25000/- which is non-refundable. The Earnest Money Deposits are:

For Single Package Bidder: Rs. 19 Crores

For Double Package Bidder: Rs. 38 Crores

Awarded bidders will have to pay 3% of the contract value amount as a performance guarantee. Performance Securities shall be furnished by the bidder after issuance of the Purchase Order. 

At the time of placing the order, Solar Energy Corporation can increase or decrease the 10% quoted module capacity on the same price, terms, and conditions of the contract. The Supplier shall supply 0.5% of awarded Package Capacity as Mandatory Spares in addition to the awarded Package. Bidder has 16 months from the date of the Contract Agreement / Purchase & Service Order to complete the awarded capacity.
