Torrent Power to Supply 132 MW Solar Power for Shapoorji Pallonji’s Desalination Plants
Torrent Power, which delves into power generation, transmission, distribution and manufacturing and supply of power cables, has onboarded Saurabh Mashruwala as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The appointment follows the resignation of Lalit Malik, who attributed health reasons to it.
"Accepted the resignation tendered by Lalit Malik from the position of CFO and Whole Time Key Managerial Personnel of the Company w.e.f. close of working hours of April 13, 2023, due to health reasons," it said.
Effective April 14, Saurabh Mashruwala joined Torrent Power as the CFO and Whole Time Key Managerial Personnel.
Mashruwala's career spans 33 years of experience in corporate finance, accounting, corporate restructuring, budgeting et al. He has been working for the firm since January 2009, before which, he was the General Manager, Finance at Adani Power Ltd.
In January, Torrent Power said it was in the midst of discussions with ReNew Energy Global Plc for the purchase of clean power projects, the capacity of which will stand at 1.1 GW. Sources have revealed that the deal is valued at $1.2 billion.
