Rooftop Solar Tender Totaling 4.715 MW Issued by Northern Railways

West Central Railway tender for 12 MW rooftop solar

The Northern Railways has issued a tender, inviting bids from eligible bidders for development of rooftop solar installations across multiple D and E category railway stations in its jurisdiction.

The Railway authority is seeking developers for setting up 133 installations of 10 kW capacity rooftop solar systems and 677 installations of 5 kW rooftop solar systems. The total tendered capacity is 4.715 MW.

The scope of work for selected bidders will include the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the rooftop solar power systems. The selected developers may or may not be required to sign Annual Maintenance Contracts for the operation and maintenance of the plants.

The last date for bid submission is June 6, 2019, and the techno-commercial bids will be opened on the same date. Developers will have a period of 9 months from the date of the award or the issuance of the letter of intent for completing the work on the project.

The estimated cost of the project is Rs 26.2 crores and all bidders will have to submit an Earnest Money Deposit of Rs 14.6 lakhs along with their bids as a bid security amount.

To be eligible for bidding, the tenderer must have successfully completed in the last 7 years;

a)Three similar works costing not less than the amount equal to 40% of advertised value of the tender, or

b)Two similar works costing not less than the amount equal to 50% of advertised value of the tender, or

c)One similar work costing not less than the amount equal to 80% of the advertised value of the tender.

As a proof of sufficient financial capacity and organisational resources, the tenderer(s) should have received the total payments against satisfactory execution of all completed/ongoing works of all types, during the last three financial years and in the current financial year of a value not less than 150% of the advertised cost of work.
