Roofsol Energy to Execute 11.53 MWp Solar Rooftop in Ludhiana Tamil Nadu To Exempt 50% Of Rooftop Solar Network Charges For MSMEs

Mumbai-headquartered firm engaged in providing ground mount and solar rooftop solutions for the commercial & industrial sector, Roofsol Energy Pvt Ltd has been awarded a rooftop solar project at Sharmanji Yarns Pvt Ltd, a spinning mill in Ludhiana, Punjab, for a capacity of 11.53 MWp.

The rooftop project will employ high-efficiency N-type 690 Wp modules from Trina Solar Asia Pacific while solar inverters of 125 KW from Sungrow Power Supply Co., Ltd. shall be used in the project. The project will save around 15 million tonnes of carbon emissions per year.

Roofsol Energy has a strong portfolio in rooftop segment in the northern part of India. The firm’s portfolio boasts installation of 70 MWp of rooftop solar plants in Punjab. These have been primarily established in the textile industry. Previously, it won a 3 MW rooftop solar project from Cedaar Textile Pvt. Ltd. Roofsol Energy also added a project from Udaipur-based Mankind Pharma Ltd, which is India’s fourth largest pharmaceutical company. Roofsol is presently setting up a 1.2 MW rooftop + ground mounted plant in the pharma company’s Udaipur unit. In addition to these order wins, it was awarded a 2 MW rooftop solar plus ground mounted project from Rahman Group in Kanpur. The firm delves into the manufacturing of leather. This is a repeat order for Roofsol after executing more than 4 MWp of rooftop solar plants earlier for the leather manufacturer.

Roofsol Energy has set sights on achieving over 100 MWp of rooftop and ground-mounted solar projects in the C&I segment in the current financial year.

As per a report released by the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA), states such as Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh Telangana, and the union territory of Delhi have the most favourable ecosystems for commercial & industrial (C&I) customers setting up rooftop solar projects.
