The Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI), in its latest notification, awarded the contracts for developing a 1200 Megawatt (MW) of Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS)-Connected Solar-Wind Hybrid Project (Tranche-VI) to four bidders for their least bid tariffs.

The final developers selected after an e-reverse auction held on April 12 included-Amp Energy Green Private Ltd, ReNew Vikram Shakti Private Limited, Hero Solar Energy Private Limited and ACME Cleantech Solutions Private Limited.

Amp Energy gave the lowest bid. It submitted its bid at Rs 4.64 per Kilowatt hour (KwH). It was followed by ReNew Vikram Shakti at Rs 4.69, Hero Solar at Rs 4.72, and ACME Cleantech at Rs 4.73. Renew Vikram, which bid for 600 MW of the project, has been awarded 600 MW capacity, the highest amongst all.

It was followed by ACME Cleantech which had bid for 1080 MW but was awarded 380 MW from the project. While Hero was awarded 120 MW, Amp Energy got 100 MW of the project share, against which they bid. Project Fifteen Renewable Power Private Limited, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, and Teq Green Power XVI Private Limited could not advance in the e-reverse auction due to the higher bids in the auction.

The SECI issued the tender on November 2022 and asked the bidders to submit their tenders by December 12, 2022. The tender has asked the bidders to deposit an earnest Rs 1.22 million per MW of the project. It was in addition to the Rs 1.83 million per MW of the project, which was needed as a performance bank guarantee before signing the PPAs.

The tender claimed that each project should be at least 50 MW, and the maximum capacity for such projects should be 1200 MW. It also asked for mandatory energy storage systems for at least 100 MWh capacity for each MW project.
