Equinor and Polenergia have signed contracts with Denmark-headquartered Ramboll for the Bałtyk II and offshore wind projects in the Polish Baltic Sea, said the company in its media statement.

Under the contracts, Ramboll will provide engineering services for 100 monopiles for the Bałtyk II and Bałtyk III projects. Equinor and Polenergia also finalised contracts for the delivery of 100 Siemens Gamesa SG 14-236 DD wind turbines.

“Thanks to the signed agreement, we are approaching the moment of making the final investment decision and implementing the Bałtyk II and Bałtyk III projects. Our wind farms, as one of the first in the Baltic Sea, will significantly contribute to increasing Poland’s energy security,” said Michał Jerzy Kołodziejczyk, President of the Management Board of Equinor in Poland.

In February, developers also signed the final contracts with Netherlands-headquartered Sif for the supply of 100 monopiles. The manufacturing is planned to commence in the second quarter of 2025 with completion in 2026.

As far as other projects are concerned, Vortex Energy, a renewable energy company based in Poland has started the construction of several of its projects including 53MW of onshore wind power and 57MW of PV solar power projects. These renewable energy projects in Poland are set to be finished atmost by 2025. Once completed the solar and wind projects will provide around 180 GWh of energy annually fulfilling the needs of 93,000 homes and reducing 1,26,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions every year. In other news, Denmark-based wind company Vestas received a firm order from Energa Green Development, a subsidiary of the ORLEN Group, for the Szybowice wind farm in Opolskie, Poland. The order consisted of 17 V110-2.0 MW wind turbines in 2.2 MW power mode and included the supply, delivery, and commissioning of the wind turbines.
