Q4 Results: ReNew Reports 415% Increase In Net Profit
NASDAQ-listed renewable energy firm ReNew Energy Global Plc reported a 10.7% rise in net profit for FY25, while posting a sharp 415% year-on-year jump in profit for the fourth quarter, driven by robust revenue growth. The company, led by Chairman and CEO Sumant Sinha, released its financial results for the quarter ending March 2025 on Monday.
ReNew posted a total revenue of ₹9,706.3 crore in FY25, marking a 19.3% annual increase.
Q4 Performance
For the January–March quarter, ReNew reported a 60% year-on-year growth in revenue, reaching ₹2,904.5 crore, compared to ₹1,812 crore in Q4 FY24. Net profit for the quarter surged to ₹313.7 crore, up from ₹60.9 crore in the same period last year.
Cost and Margin Dynamics
The company, which also manufactures solar modules, benefited from declining raw material and consumable costs amid falling solar cell prices. Despite this, total expenses rose in Q4 due to increased scale of operations. Raw material costs grew significantly from ₹110 crore in Q4 FY24 to ₹742.9 crore in the latest quarter, reflecting higher procurement volumes.
However, finance costs and fair value changes in derivative instruments increased sharply, rising from ₹1,168.9 crore in Q4 FY24 to ₹1,466.3 crore in Q4 FY25, adding pressure to operational margins. The firm also reported a higher tax burden in the quarter, further weighing on net profitability.
ReNew noted an increase in its total current liabilities, which may reflect rising short-term obligations as the company continues to expand its project pipeline.
