Post offices in Raipur are opting Solar Panels for uninterrupted power supply

Post offices in rural areas of Raipur are opting to Solar Panels for uninterrupted power supply and to offer better customer services. However, the process is still at initial phase.

The Postal Department is yet to cherry-pick an agency or company which will supply these solar panels to the post offices. As of now it’s not clear whether this renewable source will be available in all the 542 post offices.

Post offices in some of the villages in Raipur have already received budget to install rooftop solar panels. These post offices are expected to begin functioning with solar power by this year.

Besides installing solar panel the postal department is also planning to bring Core Banking Solution (CBS) in the rural post offices with better internet and computer connectivity.
