PGVCL Invites Proposal for 921 MW Solar Projects Under PM-KUSUM Component C

PGVCL Invites Proposal for 921 MW Solar Projects Under PM-KUSUM Component C PGVCL 921 MW tender

Paschim Gujarat Vij Company (PGVCL) has invited proposals for the development of 921 MW of solar projects under Component C of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) program.

The last date  for submitting online bids is March 17, 2023

The scope of work in the project involves-

  1. Converting 11 kV feeders of selected 66/11 kV substations of PGVCL into solar ones.
  2. The winning bidder will be responsible for the project’s maintenance and operation for 25 years.

The project must be completed within nine months from the date of signing the power purchase agreement (PPA) with  PGVCL.The successful bidder will also be eligible to receive central financial assistance at 30% of the estimated cost of the project. An earnest money deposit of ₹100,000/MW of the quoted capacity is required.

The successful bidder must- Submit ₹500,000/MW as a performance bank guarantee within seven days from the date of the issuance of the letter of award. The solar modules used in the projects must be from the approved list of models and manufacturers released by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. The ideal location of the solar projects will be within a five-kilometer radius of the selected substations to minimize evacuation line costs and losses.

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan plan, also known as the PM Kusum Yojana, was introduced by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India, toincrease farmer income, supply sources for irrigation, and de-dieselize the agricultural sector. Component-C of PM KUSUM Scheme is a new initiative from the Government of India aimed at ensuring reliable day time power supply for irrigation, reducing subsidy burden on Discoms and providing additional sources of income to the farmers. Under this Component, individual farmer having grid connected agriculture pump will be supported to solarise pumps.
