NTPC REL Wins 900 MW in PFCCL 1250 MW Solar Tender

PFCCL has announced the winners for its solar tender released a few months ago. NTPC Renewable Energy Limited has secured the bid for 900 MW capacity in the solar tender floated by PFCCL on behalf of NTPC Ltd. for the selection of 1250 MW ISTS-connected solar PV power projects in India under Flexibility Scheme. The other winners of the tender include ACME Cleantech Solutions, Solarcraft Power India 12.

In the recently concluded reverse auction for the tender by PFCCL, the discovered tariff is ₹2.53/kWh at which NTPC REL and ACME won the tender. NTPC REL bagged 900 MW while ACME Power won 300 MW. Solarcraft bagged 50 MW under the bucket-filling method at ₹2.54.

The energy generated shall be procured by NTPC Ltd. This is envisioned to replace thermal power through existing PPAs of NTPC Ltd. with various DISCOMs.

Presently, NTPC Group has 3.36 GW renewable energy operational capacity with nearly 20 GW in pipeline. NTPC is committed to achieve 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032.

PFCCL is a wholly owned subsidiary of PFC Limited, a Maharatna Company under the Ministry of Power.

Earlier, PFC invited proposals for setting up transmission projects on Build, Own, Operate and Transfer basis (BOOT). The Request for Proposal is for the selection of the bidder as transmission service provider through tariff-based competitive bidding process to establish Inter-State Transmission Scheme, “Transmission System for Evacuation of Power from Renewable Energy Projects in Solapur (1500 MW) SEZ in Maharashtra.
