The generation of solar based electricity in the campus will help the varsity to reduce the electricity bills and also generate revenue for itself by selling the excess green electricity to the power grids.

For setting up the solar power plant, Osmania University is discussing the possibility with the Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation, Telangana State Power Generation Corporation Limited and National Thermal Power Corporation.
