Oriano Solar Finishes 40 MW Solar Power Plant for First Solar

The project is based on First Solar’s CdTe thin film PV modules, leveraging the latest 1500V inverter architecture.

Oriano Solar, a solar energy EPC company based in Mumbai has successfully accomplished two 20 MW photovoltaic (PV) power plants, constituting to a total of 40 MW will be for First Solar, Inc. in the Karnataka state, in Gadag and Belagavi districts respectively.

The two projects of Oriano solar were on the turnkey EPC, designed for collectively generation of approximately 82.83 MWh/annum of solar energy as per the 25 year power purchase agreement with the state owned distribution companies of Karnataka.

The project is based on First Solar’s CdTe thin film PV modules, leveraging the latest 1500V inverter architecture. During the construction phase, more than 725 people are deployed to work at the projects site.

Sujoy Ghosh, country head, First Solar India said “This is Oriano’s first project with thin film modules, and their commitment to deliver on time within budgets was exemplary.”

Yeshwant Rao, co-founder and MD Oriano Solar said “Both the Oriano and First Solar teams worked seamlessly in delivering this project on schedule and building a high-performance PV plant. The expected plant performance ratio is approx. 81 percent, thereby giving better energy yield.”
