The Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA) has issued a Request For Proposal (RfP) from interested parties to deploy 300 Electric Vehicle (EV) cars in different categories. The government said that these EV fleets would be deployed under the Own, Operate, and Maintain Basis. These EVs are all set to be used by state government departments.

OREDA, in the official documents, said that the last date for any pre-bid queries is May 10, while the date for a pre-bid meeting through the online meeting will be May 15, 2023. In addition, the department said that the time to submit the online copies of the technical bid stands at May 31, while the date for the hardcopy submission will be June 2.

The department said that through the tender, it wanted to allocate 300 Electric cars in total, which will comprise small or hatchback, sedan, and SUV categories of electric cars. In addition, the tender said that the bidders must provide new electric cars to the beneficiary and ensure periodic maintenance. It also asked for a dedicated customer care service to lodge any complaint regarding its services.

The OREDA tender asked the bidders to ensure the supply and installation of chargers in the beneficiary locations or vicinity of the beneficiary locations as per requirement.

“The Required EV Charging Infrastructure for fast Charging, Type-II & above for AC & DC Charging chargers of CHAdeMO / CCS as may be required by respective beneficiaries (Clients) shall be provided including SCADA System, Mobile app for operation and providing services of Charging Infrastructure and source of energy supply. The roles and responsibilities of the EV fleet service provider will also include paying electric charges to the DISCOMs for charging their EVs. An official from OREDA requesting anonymity said this would likely open the vaults for the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and EV fleet service providers.
