Independent Power Producer O2 Power has joined hands with Gateway Terminals India Private Limited (the Indian subsidiary of APM Terminals, one of the world’s leading terminal companies) to supply 10.65 MW worth of captive solar power from its plants in Maharashtra.

The plant boasts capacity to produce 22 million kWh of electricity per year. It will help meet 80% of the terminal’s power needs while also curbing carbon footprint by 44% (15,092 CO2t).

Said Sunay Mukerjee, COO of GTI, “I am delighted to ink this power purchase agreement with O2 Power. By signing this agreement, we reaffirm our commitment to the environment and community. The power agreement marks a significant step forward in our decarbonisation journey.”

Parag Sharma, Founder and CEO, O2 Power, said, “𝑃𝑎𝑟𝑡𝑛𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝐺𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑤𝑎𝑦 𝑇𝑒𝑟𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑎𝑙𝑠, 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝐼𝑛𝑑𝑖𝑎𝑛 𝑎𝑟𝑚 𝑜𝑓 𝐴𝑃𝑀 𝑇𝑒𝑟𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑎𝑙𝑠, 𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑏𝑖𝑔𝑔𝑒𝑠𝑡 𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑎𝑙 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑝𝑎𝑛𝑖𝑒𝑠 𝑖𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑔𝑙𝑜𝑏𝑒, 𝑤𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑏𝑒 𝑎 𝑠𝑖𝑔𝑛𝑖𝑓𝑖𝑐𝑎𝑛𝑡 𝑎𝑑𝑑𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑡𝑜 𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑠ℎ𝑖𝑝𝑝𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑙𝑜𝑔𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑐𝑠 𝑝𝑜𝑟𝑡𝑓𝑜𝑙𝑖𝑜.
