NTPC Issues RfS For Supply of Power From 1 GW Solar Projects Under CPSU-II

NTPC Ltd. has invited online bids from eligible bidders for selection of end users for the supply of power from 1 GW solar projects under CPSU-II.

NTPC Ltd. has invited online bids from eligible bidders for selection of end users (Government Entities / CPSUs / State PSUs) for the supply of power from 1000  MW Grid-Connected solar PV  power projects under DCR Category as per CPSU Scheme Phase II.

The last date for submission of bids is June 27, 2019, and the techno-commercial bids will be opened on June 28, 2019. The financial bid opening will be conducted prior to the forward auction for the tender.

To qualify, the Bidders should be a CPSUs/ State PSUs/ Government Entity which is either directly controlled by the Central or State Government or is under the administrative control of Central or State government or a  Company in which Government is having more than 50 % shareholding as per the requirement of CPSU scheme.

MNRE issued the CPSU Scheme Phase II for setting up 12,000 MW grid-connected Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Power Projects by the government producers with Viability Gap Funding (VGF) support for self-use or use by Government/Government entities, either directly or through Distribution Companies. The total 12,000 MW capacity is expected to be added in the 4 year period i.e from the financial year 2019-20 to 2022-23.

The projects under the latest RfS issued by SECI will be developed on a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) basis. And, the power generated from these projects shall be solely used for self-use or use by Government/Government entities, either directly or through Discoms on payment of mutually agreed usages charges of not more than Rs 3.50/kWh.

Recently, SECI extended the deadline for bid submission on its tender for selection of solar power developers for setting up of 2000 MW grid-connected solar PV power projects in India (Tranche-I) under CPSU Phase-II scheme, till July 2, 2019.

In April, the National Bicycle Corporation of India (NBCIL), a Government of India Undertaking, with reference to SECI’s 2000 MW grid-connected solar PV projects under CPSU Scheme, Phase-II, Tranche-I had invited government producers interested in participating in the above tender to set up projects on the land available with NBCIL at its Ghaziabad office.
