Enrich has bagged an award for a 300 MW Solar EPC Project from NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), to be developed at NTPC Anta, Rajasthan. Enrich Energy said in a post that it has signed the turnkey contract with the NTPC Renewable Energy arm, NTPC REL project, further strengthening Enrich’s growing portfolio in large-scale utility solar projects. The tender for this project was issued in October and awarded after six months.
Enrich will be responsible for arranging land for the solar project and undertaking the design, engineering, manufacturing, transportation, storage, installation, and commissioning of the plant. It will also be responsible for the identification, acquisition, and complete transfer of ownership or lease of encumbrance-free land in favor of NTPC Renewable Energy Limited.
The winning bidder for the NTPC solar project must complete all EPC works required for the development of the solar PV project, using open-category PV modules, along with establishing a power evacuation system up to the NTPC Anta 220 kV switchyard and telemetry connectivity up to the ISTS pooling substation through the NTPC Anta substation, in accordance with detailed technical specifications and applicable standards. The specifications also include CCTV systems and other items necessary for grid compliance, such as reactive power compensation and harmonics control.
Previously, companies such as Amara Raja Infra Private Limited (ARIPL), part of the $2 billion Amara Raja Group, commissioned NTPC’s Anta 90 MW/135 MWp (ground-mounted) Solar PV Project. The project, spanning a 437-acre site in Anta, Baran district, Rajasthan, is the country’s first Balance of System (BoS) solar contract awarded in 2021 by a CPSU. It is set to generate 213 million units of green energy annually and was commissioned within the existing premises of NTPC’s gas-fired thermal power station in Anta.
Leadership View
Executive Chairman and Board Member of Enrich, Iswar Chand, stated, “This prestigious project from one of Asia's top energy utility groups—NTPC—marks another significant milestone in our journey towards becoming India's leading solar and energy storage solutions company. We look forward to supporting India’s clean energy transition and strengthening national renewable infrastructure.”
Founder and Managing Director (MD) of Enrich, Ankit Kanchal, stated, “This award reflects the strong momentum at the company in enhancing our engineering expertise, strengthening project management capabilities, and delivering large-scale solar projects with speed and quality. The project further reinforces our order book and positions us for sustained growth as we continue to support federal clean energy ambitions through reliable, timely, and sustainable infrastructure development.”
About the Project
Under the scope of work, the selected developer will be responsible for identifying and acquiring encumbrance-free land, executing EPC activities, and undertaking commissioning, operation, and maintenance (O&M) of the project for a period of three years post-commissioning.
The scope also covers the power evacuation system up to the NTPC Anta 220 kV substation. This includes setting up a terminal bay, extending the 220 kV bus, and erecting a new 220 kV bay at the Anta switchyard. The developer will also be required to lay a dedicated transmission line, including right-of-way (ROW) clearances, from the solar plant to the NTPC Anta substation.
