NTPC Enlisting Developers for EV Charging Infrastructure

NTPC has issued an NIA, for the enlistment of bidders for the development of EV charging infrastructure with Bharat Chargers.

State-owned power utility, NTPC Ltd has issued a Notice Inviting Applications (NIA), seeking applications from eligible and interested parties for the enlistment of bidders for the development of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure with Bharat Chargers.

The brief scope of work for the enlisted bidders when executing a project will will include the supply, packing and forwarding, transportation, unloading, storage, installation  and commissioning including earthing, cabling and all associated civil works related to Bharat DC-001 and AC-001 chargers for EVs at the identified locations including a 1 year OEM in-built warranty and additional 5 years Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) for the complete system.

The last date and time for submission of applications is August 2, 2019, and the applications will be opened on the same date.

To be eligible, the bidder should have manufactured and supplied, or be a charge point provider of off-board EV DC charger(s). The cumulative installed capacity should be at least 50 kW or above, out of which at least one such charger should be of 15 kW or above prior to the date of techno-commercial bid opening.

The other route requires the bidder to have executed at least one electrical sub-station of 11 kV or above voltage level, consisting of equipment such as 11 kV or above voltage level circuit breakers and transformer, either as developer or as contractor which should be in successful operation for at least two years prior to the date of techno-commercial bid opening.

NTPC has been following up on the government’s push for a transition to electric vehicles by issuing multiple tenders and grants for either setting up of charging infrastructures or for developing new and improved charging systems for electric vehicles.

In March, the utility had issued a tender for the development of charging infrastructure for EVs. The scope of work had been divided into three sub-items which included, BOQ for 4-Wheeler Charging Infrastructure, BOQ for Bus Charging Infrastructure-I and finally, BOQ for Bus Charging Infrastructure-II.
