These three states, namely Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Andhra Pradesh, are among India’s leading solar hubs, hosting some of the country’s largest utility-scale projects and forming part of NTPC’s core renewable energy portfolio.

Earlier this year, NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC REL) commissioned the full 220 MW capacity of its Shajapur Solar Project (Unit-II) in Madhya Pradesh. With the commissioning of the Shajapur project, NTPC has taken another step toward its ambitious 2032 goal of installing 60 GW of renewable energy capacity, aimed at replacing 45 percent of its overall power generation with clean energy.

Similarly, in Andhra Pradesh, NTPC subsidiary NTPC Green Energy Ltd. (NGEL) entered into a joint venture (JV) with the New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP). This Joint Venture was undertaken to develop renewable energy projects in the state. This collaboration is poised to attract an investment of ₹2,00,000 crore to the state.
