The Nordex Group has announced that it has received wind turbine orders totaling 190 MW from eight customers in Europe. The first order has been received for orders totaling 128 MW from seven customers from Ireland, Germany, France and Sweden. Construction of the projects will start in 2020 and 2021. The N149/4.0-4.5, N100/3300 and N117/3600 turbines were in this instance the machines in demand, and this variety of turbines ordered once again proves the attractiveness of the Nordex Group’s product range, which is well tailored to different market requirements and wind regimes.

“The geographical distribution of orders also underlines the greater independence of the Nordex Group from developments in individual markets,” explains Patxi Landa, CSO of the Nordex Group.

The second and more recent order was won for the construction of a wind farm with large turbines in Turkey and underlined its market-leading position. The company will supply thirteen N133/4.8 turbines for the Mersinli wind farm. The 62.4 MW order also includes a premium service for over ten years. It is the first order from Turkey for the N133/4.8 turbine, the strong-wind variant of the Delta4000 series.

In the summer of 2020, Nordex Group will deliver the turbines, and the completion of the project is scheduled for the end of 2020. The wind farm “Mersinli” will be built near Torbali, about 36 kilometers southeast of Izmir. The Nordex Group will produce locally the anchor cages, towers, blades and generators.

The Group has installed more than 27 GW of wind energy capacity in over 40 markets and in 2018 generated revenues of around EUR 2.5 billion.

In November, the firm had reported that it has received orders for wind turbine deliveries for projects worth 248 MW in Turkey.

The first two orders have been received from the firms’ long-standing customer Boydak Enerji. Nordex Group will supply 21 N149/4.0-4.5 turbines with a rated capacity of 4.8 MW each for the “Ömerli” wind farm. On top of this, Boydak Enerji has ordered an additional 22 N117/3675 turbines for the “Sibel” project. The future 110.8 MW “Ömerli” wind farm will be built near Istanbul. The Nordex Group will build “Sibel”, with a total capacity of 80.9 MW, in the Aegean region between Izmir and Manisa. Both orders include Premium Service for the machines for a period of 10 years.
