NLC India to Develop 110 MW Solar Project for NCRTC’s Namo Bharat Corridor

NLC India Limited has received a Letter of Acceptance from the National Capital Region Transport Corporation Limited (NCRTC) for setting up a 110 MW (AC) grid-connected solar PV power project in Uttar Pradesh under captive mode. NCRTC has awarded the LoA for this project four months after issuing the tender.

On securing the project, NCRTC shared the project details, stating on social media, “Taking a major step towards powering the Delhi–Ghaziabad–Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor with green energy, NCRTC is set to develop a 110 MW solar power plant in Uttar Pradesh, for which the work has been awarded to NLC India Limited (NLC).”

The organisation also noted in the stock exchange filing about the scheduled commissioning of the project within the next 24 months, to meet nearly 60% of the corridor’s total electricity requirement.

About The Project

The company further shared project details, stating that it envisages setting up the 110 MW (AC) grid-connected solar PV power project in Uttar Pradesh under captive mode. The company will be required to supply power generated from the project for 25 years under a power purchase agreement (PPA).

Additionally, NLC India will be required to supply power from the full project capacity, with the project expected to be completed within the Scheduled Commencement of Supply Date (SCSD) of 24 months from the effective date of the PPA.

Previous Projects

Earlier this year, NLC India commissioned a 106 MW solar project under the second phase and declared it commercially operational as part of the 300 MW Solar Power Project. With this latest commissioning, the total project capacity has reached 158.83 MW out of 300 MW. The company shared in a regulatory filing that the project is located in Barsingsar, Bikaner district, Rajasthan.
