Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL) has issued a tender for developing solar projects of 615 MW capacity. The 615 MW cumulative capacity entails 100 MW in Aurangabad-II, 76 MW and 105 MW in Aurangabad-III, 143 MW in Pune , and 191 MW in the Konkan region.

The projects will be established in government-owned lands in Maharashtra. The ceiling tariff has been earmarked at INR 3.20/kWh for the projects.

The last day to submit the bids is May 8. The bids also open on the same day.

The EMD (Earnest Money Deposit) for the project is INR 100,000/MW.

The successful bidder is to provide a performance bank guarantee (valid for fourteen months from effective date) of INR 500,000/MW within 30 days of the work order issuance.

The power purchase agreement (PPA) will be signed within one month of the issue of the Letter of Award (LoA) and will be valid for 25 years from the commercial operation date of the proposed/new solar power projects.

Mumbai-based renewable energy firm Avaada Energy bagged a 560 MWdc solar power project under which it will supply green electricity to MSEDCL.

MSEDCL also recently issued an RFP for the procurement of 88 MW (AC) solar power from projects to be developed in Nagpur region of Maharashtra through competitive bidding process (followed by e-reverse auction).
