MSEDCL Gives LoA to TPREL for Setting up 150 MW Solar Plant in Maharashtra

MSEDCL Gives LoA to TPREL for Setting up 150 MW Solar Plant in Maharashtra

The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Corporation Limited (MSEDCL) has awarded the “Letter of Award” (LoA to TPREL) to Tata Power subsidiary Tata Power Renewable Energy for the construction of a 150 MW solar project in Solapur. According to a statement released by Tata Power, the project will be put into service within 18 months of the contract’s execution date. 

According to Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited CEO Ashish Khanna: “We are grateful for the MSEDCL LoA for the 150MW solar project. The honor confirms our ability to complete solar projects of the highest caliber and is consistent with our goal to build a sustainable ecology for the transition to a greener future.”

This brings the overall renewable energy capacity of Tata Power’s arm to 5,786 MW, with 3,877 MW of that installed (Solar: 2,949 MW; Wind: 928 MW) and 1,909 MW in various phases of development. 

Tata Power is present throughout the whole value chain of electricity production, including the production of conventional and renewable power, including the production of hydro and thermal energy, transmission and distribution, coal and freight, logistics, and trade. (LoA to TPREL)

Earlier, Tata Power Renewable Energy commissioned a 120 MW solar project in Masenka, Gujarat. Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a 100 percent subsidiary of Tata Power, commissioned the solar project, which is producing 305247 MWh annually for Gujarat Government (GUVNL), as per the company statement.

Along with this, Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd raised Rs 4,000 crore to build a comprehensive platform to achieve its renewable sector ambitions in India.
